After releasing the first full episode of Outlander online August 2 for viewing on various platforms a full week before its premiere on Saturday, August 9, the numbers speak for themselves. According to Starz,
“As of August 7, the early initial data from some of the platforms where it was made available showed that the episode had been viewed 900,000 (897,372) times by more than 600,000 unique viewers (606,557).”
While we here at The Outlander Podcast certainly are fans of Diana Gabaldon‘s books, we are also very excited for the Starz series to officially begin. And continue. Hopefully for many years. And such great interest in a series that has not premiered on its own network is intriguing, and, we hope, promising.
